HEC Paris has launched its new e-Lab

On May 20, Top Business School HEC Paris has launched its new e-Lab, a unique space designed to support entrepreneurship, teamwork, creativity, and communication through by making high-tech technology available to its students.

The creation of such a facility has been made possible thanks to the generosity of Jean-Luc Allavena, Pascal de Jenlis and Pascal Cagni, all of whom are major donors to the HEC Foundation.

HEC Paris noted, that the ‘e’ in e-Lab signifies both ‘entrepreneurship’ and ‘electronic’, emphasizing the close link between the two.

Intended for use by HEC Paris students interested in entrepreneurship, the space is equipped with high-speed technology and is enabled for video-conferences, walls are completely covered in “white board” paint, and all equipment is mobile and can be moved easily as needed.

HEC Professors will bring their expertise to teach and coach. Moreover, international experts, entrepreneurs, lawyers and investors will use the space to share their own experiences, tips and insights with students via teaching focused on “action learning.”

Finally, the e-Lab will help support exchange between HEC students and students of the partner schools at the University of Paris-Saclay, and encourage the creation of innovative projects.

Bernard Ramanantsoa, Dean of HEC Paris, noted that entrepreneurship is a major component of the school’s global strategy. In recent years, the school has created an entrepreneurship major, launched an entrepreneurial competition called Challenge+ and established an HEC Incubator. “This new space is the ideal place to promote collaboration between students and project leaders who want to work and learn together," he said in a statement. Therefore, the e-Lab is the latest evidence of HEC Paris’s commitment to furthering entrepreneurial studies.
