Which Professions are Open to an MBA?

If you want a business degree, but don’t want to spend your life in a cubicle punching your keyboard, there are always lots of different opportunities. For instance, you can…

 Enroll in a non-profit organization

For non-profit businesses, an MBA graduate will prove a great asset. There are hundreds of various non-profits, varying from animal charities to political organizations, and they are always in need of people with degrees in management or banking. If you are considering working for one, it’s easy to find one such organization tailored to your needs.

Don’t be alarmed by the word ‘non-profit’ either. The goal is not to make a profit, but they may pay for your work as well.

Find a government

job For most people, working for the government means being a politician and doing everything to get elected. No matter whether you want to run for office, a government job can turn out to be perfect for an MBA graduate.

The skills and knowledge you will learn during your MBA program will help you work for the government, whether you want to run a political campaign or just work in an office. Your financial and managerial skills will come in handy if you eventually decide to become a politician.

Make your own profit

Many business graduates dream to become an entrepreneur. Of course, there are huge risks involved, especially if you don’t have any experience in founding a startup, but it can turn out to be extremely profitable.

Here, you can give free rein to your imagination: you can start a sticker-making company or a charity non-profit. The deal is to find people who will be just as excited by the new opportunities and ideas as you already are. Of course, your business and leadership skills picked up at the university will prove invaluable if you choose an entrepreneur’s career.

Become a career coach

When others are looking for a suitable job of their own, they need some third party who can direct them towards their best career options. This is where you come in: with an MBA degree, you know all about success and turning a profit.

As a career coach, your goal is not just to find a suitable job for your clients. Your best shot is at finding a career that will make your clients happy and fulfilled. This kind of job can be very rewarding in that you not only earn money but help others to become what they’ve dreamed of their whole lives.

Find a place at a mass media business

All college and especially university graduates have at least some knowledge about writing, even if they’ve never worked as journalists. With all your knowledge, writing about business, finance or management will be easy and rewarding.

Even if you don’t especially like writing, you can still find a job at a news agency, like a show host or a financier. Your MBA degree will make you suitable for a wide range of positions.

Go military

Even the military nowadays needs MBA graduates. All military officers are holders of some kind of degree (including business and management). Also, the salary is quite handsome, better than enlisted soldiers have. Any military career is, in fact, open for an MBA, especially if you consider the fact that at university, you’ll become a manager as well as a true leader – and these qualities are crucial for career military.

The thing is, becoming an MBA will give you a lot of practical skills which you can then use in any job you’d like. It could be a ‘traditional’ businessman career – a manager, director or even CEO of a company – but it doesn’t have to be your only option. Dedicate some time to think about what you’d like to do with your life, what working environment you like best: a peaceful one or a dynamic one. In any case, you have a huge range of choices, and you’ll certainly find something to your liking!
