The top spot given to Harvard, same as last year. Nowadays, obtaining an MBA degree is usually associated with huge expenses, losses and debts.Hence, if you’ve firmly decided to undertake studying at an MBA program, you’d better know that it will pay off in future.
To help you with choosing a university worth its money, Bloomberg has made a top program ranking list after talking to 87 business schools’ alumni and graduates, as well as company owners who had recently hired MBA degree holders.
As a result, Harvard has taken the first place in the Bloomberg rankings, meaning that it’s still the most ‘profitable’ education out there. Below, you will learn how Harvard University has managed to keep the top spot since 1988, and how the rankings had been calculated.
How They Did It
To make a complete list, Bloomberg had used alumni and employer surveys. No less than a thousand of business owners had taken part in the survey, sharing their experience of hiring and working with MBA graduates. To get responses from alumni and graduates, Bloomberg used data from 15 thousand people with an MBA degree from different programs. They asked questions about the program’s quality, post-graduation careers and salaries.
However, the survey wasn’t limited by just recruiters and alumni: this year, almost 10,000 fresh graduates (2016) have been surveyed. They were asked about living on campus, studying, teachers and university employees, as well as employability and starting salary in new positions.
Results
As it turned out, Harvard University managed to keep its top spot from last year. Its program was first for its curriculum, and second for starting salaries.
The first place in terms of salary was assigned to Stanford University, with Chicago Booth, Dartmouth Tuck and Duke’s Fuqua schools not far behind (they all got the top 5 places).
According to the student survey, the first place belongs to Kelley School of Business (Indiana University), and the top schools on employability were Olin Business School (Washington University) and Tippie College of Business (University of Iowa).
