Miguel Otero is a Senior Analyst in International Political Economy at Elcano Royal Institute and professor of Practice of International Political Economy at IE School of Global and Public Affairs.

He is a regular visiting research fellow at the Institute of World Economics and Politics at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Previously he was Assistant Professor at ESSCA, Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Oxford and Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the London School of Economics. He holds a PhD in IPE from Oxford Brookes University. Miguel speaks six languages and specialises in the Euro, the European economic area, China, money and finance, and emerging markets.
